Food
Restaurants can be found both in Mariehamn and scattered around Åland. Many offer both flavorful lunches and hearty dinners.
Note: On Sundays the selection may be more limited, so it's worth checking exactly what's available in the area you're in.
If you need access to grocery stores, these are mainly found in and around Mariehamn as well as in Godby. These are open every day of the week, from early morning to late evening. There are also a few village shops outside the town centers with more limited opening hours.
Right of Public Access
In Åland, the right of public access applies, but it differs from the version in Sweden and mainland Finland, since Åland has its own rules and a sensitive natural environment.
The basic rule is "don't disturb, don't destroy". You're allowed to move around in nature, pick berries, mushrooms and certain flowers, and swim and travel on the water. Always show consideration for nature, wildlife, and landowners.
Important rules

- Camping is allowed with a single tent for a maximum of 24 hours, with consideration for buildings and landowners.
- Open fires require the landowner's permission.
- Protected plants must never be picked.

- Fishing requires a fishing permit.
